Sophomore right side hitter Rayleen Rivera, letterman libero Michelle Boyd, and freshman setter Emily Leung were the Pasadena City College representatives on the All-South Coast Conference North Division First Team by conference coaches.
Rivera, from Bishop Amat High, was second in the division in kills per set, averaging 3.52 as well as 2.44 digs in 61 sets played. She added 32 aces and 0.49 blocks per set. She set a PCC record for kills in a match with 30 (five sets) in an early-season win over Chaffey.
Boyd (Verdugo Hills HS), a returner from two years ago, led the league in overall digs with 275 (averaged 3.16) and served 42 aces. She played in all 87 sets the Lancers performed this year. Leung, a freshman from Maranatha High, averaged a league high 7.34 assists per set.
Making the All-SCC North Second Team were three freshmen in middle blocker Lania Potter (Muir High, .285 kill percentage, 1.68 kills and 0.63 blocks per set), outside hitter Paige Clingaman (Shorewood High, Wisconsin, team-best 248 kills, 2.88 per set, .235), and outside hitter Vanessa Lopez (Cudahy’s Elizabeth Learning Center, 1.76 kills, 2.14 digs, and 33 aces).
PCC had a strong 16-9 season under first-year head coach Mike Terrill as the Lancers placed second in the North Division.
