Poly just finished off its best Prep League showing since the 2010-11 season.

Led by the same three players that have carried the Panthers all season, Poly took out Chadwick, 46-37, Thursday night to win the Prep League championship.

Seniors Ryan Bowen and John Genske joined junior guard Jackson Hayes to not only clinch the league championship, but also head into the playoffs with some momentum.

Bowen finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds and an assist.

Genske had 11 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists.

And Hayes had 13 points and a rebound.

Had Chadwick knocked off the Panthers, Flintridge Prep would have won the Prep League title.

Senior Ryan Bowen: “The team fought through every game we played from the beginning of the season to now, and after the win tonight, I think that we have really shown and proved the tenacity we have to win games is strong and determined. Going into the playoffs will a fun experience for all of us, and we have to just take each game one at a time like we have for the entire season. I’m confident in the teams ability to come out with strength like we have for all of our games, and I’m excited for our playoff games yet to come.”

Senior John Genske: “It’s a really great feeling to win league my senior year. I set out with the goal to take the Prep League championship this past summer, so I am really happy that we were able to pull off this win tonight and accomplish my goal. I think we’re in a good position to make a run in playoffs. We’ll be waiting eagerly to see the draw.”

Junior Jackson Hayes: “It is awesome seeing all of our hard work paying off with a league championship. Each and every individual on our team deserves this so much, but it’s time to get back to work, because we’re heading into the playoffs. It’s now a whole new season. Win or go home.”
