The recipe to winning a high school league race.

Get good pitching and timely hitting. Add some good defense and you’re set.

Poly got six innings from starter Matt Loomis and a 3-run home run from Ty Evans.

The Panthers kept ahold of the Prep League penthouse for now with their 10-4 victory over Flintridge Prep.

Loomis scattered five hits and earned the win, after allowing just one earned run. He struck out seven to improve to 7-2 this season.

Evans had two hits on the day, and Franco Alonso doubled in a run.

Bradley Noble had a solo shot for Prep and Kendall Kikkawa doubled to center to drive in another run.

Poly will travel to the Glendale Sports Complex on Friday to take on the Rebels again at 7 p.m.
