Jaylin Domingo put Mayfield on her shoulder and carried them to victory over first-place Poly.
Domingo went the distance to get the win in the circle and drove in two runs to lead the Cubs past the Panthers, 5-4.
Brennah Bronk got the loss for Poly, despite striking out nine batters.
Bronk also did her part at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a walk and two runs scored.
Vivian Wheeler had a double and two RBIs for Poly.
Julia Watson and Madeline Biscaichipy both had two hits apiece and each drove in a run.
Catalina Alonso had two hits and an RBI for Poly.
Rory Xanders and Ali Ulin had one hit each and both scored a run for the Panthers.
Poly will travel to Firebaugh on Friday, and Mayfield will host Flintridge Prep.
