In the first two games of their three-game series with Alemany this week, St. Francis scored one run and had five total hits.
The Golden Knights finally broke out of a mini-slump on Friday, with 11 hits and nine different batters had at least one hit.
St. Francis defeated Alemany, 8-5, behind 6 1/3 innings on the mound from Nolan Shwery.
Shwery allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits.
He walked two and struck out five batters, before Aaron Treloar came in for the final two outs to earn the save.
Bradon Lewis went 2 for 3, scored a run and drove in two runs.
Jacob Bechtold also had two hits, and he drove in one and scored another.
Christian Muro, Niko Khoury, Aaron Treloar and Nolan Shwery all had a hit and an RBI for the Golden Knights.
St. Francis is now 7-16 overall and 4-8 in Mission League play. The team plays the Loyola Cubs in a three game series starting at 3:30pm next Tuesday afternoon at Loyola.
“I am extremely proud of our guys for bouncing back and showing a lot of character today, especially pitcher Nolan Shwery who gave us six plus on the mound,” St. Francis coach Aaron Dorlarque said.
