It looks like Flintridge Prep is entering the playoffs on a solid note after all.

After losing matches last week to Gabrielino and Poly, Prep is back.

They competed well at the Crescenta Valley Tournament and then ended the regular-season schedule with a sweep over Firebaugh on Tuesday.

Prep won by scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-14 to officially clinch their fifth straight Prep League championship.

AJ Nicassio and Jonny Samuels continued to be the Rebels’ dynamic duo.

Nicassio had 18 kills and Samuels added 12 kills.

Leo Reilly had 12 digs.

Majeed Ismail added 7 kills and Jake Althouse had 6 kills.

Over the past five seasons, Prep is 38-2 in Prep League matches.

They’ll get their playoff bracket on Friday, and are guaranteed a first-round home match.

“The guys are excited about going to the playoffs and they are ready to work hard as they know the competition will only get tougher from here,” Prep coach Sean Beattie said.

Poly (11-9, 6-2)
Firebaugh (5-3, 2-2)
Rio Hondo Prep (9-17, 2-6)
