Most times you score 11 runs and pound out 12 hits, there is a solid chance you’ll either win the game or keep it close.

That’s exactly what the La Salle softball team did on Tuesday.

But the Lancers didn’t just lose, they fell via a mercy-rule thanks to a torrid St. Paul offense.

The Swordsmen racked up 21 runs and had 20 hits to defeat the Lancers 21-11 in five innings.

Chelle Encinas went 2 for 2 with a double, home run and four RBIs.

Lauren Veneri had two hits, including a single and a double.

Veneri scored twice and drove in two runs.

Katrina Yuzelfpolsky went 3 for 4 with three singles and an RBI.

Mary Costa singled and scored a run.

Bella Marez, Collette Allen and Natalie Rodriguez each had one RBI for La Salle.

Sophia Sansone tried to help her own cause with two hits, a run scored and she drove in one run.

La Salle will be back out on the field on Thursday at 3:15 when they host St. Joseph.
