For the first time in a while, Brennah Bronk’s only contributions came with her bat.
Vivian Wheeler got the start in the circle against last-place Firebaugh.
Wheeler went all five and allowed three hits and struck out six to help lead Poly to a 20-3 mercy-rule victory at Firebaugh on Wednesday.
Bronk drove in five runs, including a grand slam home run. She also scored two runs.
Ali Ulin went 1 for 2 with 2 walks, a hit by the pitch and a home run. She scored 3 times
Maddie Magee went 2 for 4 with a walk and 3 runs scored.
Megan Kelleher was 2 for 3 with a triple, 4 runs scored, 3 RBIs, a walk and hit by a pitch.
Jacqueline Garrity went 1 for 2 with a hit by pitch and a run scored. She drove in one run.
Poly is tied for first with Chadwick and the Panthers will host the Dolphins on Monday in a game that could very well determine the Prep League championship.
