Lauren Veneri will be able to look back on a challenging year and knowing she ended her prep career on a high note.
Veneri had two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs in Monday’s victory over St. Monica, which was La Salle’s first Del Rey League win of the season.
Some 24 hours later, Veneri hit a first inning blast in her final game.
Bishop Amat did, however, defeat La Salle, 9-1.
Veneri went 1 for 3 and was credited with playing solid at catcher all season.
Sophia Sansone went 1 for 3 with a single and went all six innings in the circle for the Lancers.
Chelle Encinas had a single and Bella Marez doubled for La Salle.
Savannah Thornell went the distance and earned the victory for Amat.
